FAQ
Common questions
What is a Seiko mod watch?
A Seiko mod is a custom watch built using a Seiko movement as the base. The case, dial, hands, crystal and bracelet are replaced with aftermarket parts to create a watch inspired by iconic luxury designs — at a fraction of the cost.
How accurate is an NH35 movement?
The Seiko NH35 is rated at ±10-15 seconds per day — typical for an automatic movement at this price point. With regular wear and proper positioning, most run closer to ±2-5 seconds per day.
Can I get a Seiko mod serviced?
Yes. The NH35, NH34, NH38 and Miyota 8285 are all widely serviced movements. Any watchmaker familiar with Seiko or Miyota movements can service your HourHand watch.
Where are HourHand watches shipped from?
All HourHand watches are shipped from Sweden. Free shipping is included on all orders.
What's the difference between the Datejust and Day-Date?
The Seiko Mod Datejust shows the date only, powered by the NH35. The Seiko Mod Day-Date shows both the date and the day of the week, powered by the Miyota 8285 with a presidential bracelet.
